On August 26, 2022, the reusable flight test of a lift-type suborbital carrier vehicle, independently developed by the First Academy of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC), achieved complete success.

After health inspection and maintenance, the carrier vehicle used in the flight test ignited and took off vertically once again at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center. It completed suborbital flight in accordance with preset procedures and landed horizontally and steadily at Alxa Right Banner Airport, marking China’s first successful reusable flight of a suborbital carrier vehicle. The full success of this flight test has strongly advanced the leapfrog development of China’s space transportation technology from one-time use to reusable application.
